“There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.” – Maya Angelou
Rachael Meyer, Literary Editor
As an accomplished editor, Rachael Meyer has a rich background in education and literature. With several years of experience as a teacher, she brings a profound understanding of language and instruction to her editorial work. Her career shift into literary pursuits allowed her to merge her passion for literature with her meticulous attention to detail.
At home, Rachael shares her life with her husband, Zachary, and two rambunctious cats named Munchkin and Oscar that often add a lively energy to her workspace. She enjoys drinking tea, indulging her sweet tooth, spending time with her four goofy siblings, exploring, reading, and writing to her heart’s content.

Also a writer in her spare time, Rachael hopes to one day finish her own novels. For the time being, her focus lies solely on helping other authors find their voice and bring their worlds to life. She created Inkwell and Meyer to assist those in need of an unbiased set of eyes to spot typographical errors such as misspelling words, inconsistencies in plots, grammatical errors, sentence structure, and many other issues throughout the editing process. With attention to detail, Rachael can see sentences that might otherwise confuse a reader and need adjusting without eliminating the voice and style of the author.

Our Journey
From teaching to becoming an editor is a story of passion, transformation, and a deep love for the written word. As a teacher, Rachael spent several years shaping young minds, nurturing creativity and imaginations, and sparking curiosity in her students. Immense joy was found in watching them discover new ideas and express themselves through many cultivated hobbies. The classroom became a canvas where she encouraged imaginations to run wild and guided her students to take the first steps toward crafting their own narratives. This helped Rachael realize that her favorite moments were the ones spent aiding them in finding their unique voices, whether through stories, pictures or even the simplest of assignments.
Driven by this love, she decided to take a leap into a new realm — book editing. In this new role, Rachael became a mentor and guide for authors, helping them hone their craft, perfect their stories, and breathe life into their ideas. Editing became a way to continue teaching, but on a different stage — one where the students were now fellow storytellers, and the lessons were in refining plots, deepening characters, and polishing prose.
Her background as a teacher created the patience to see potential where others might not, as well as the empathy to understand the vulnerability that comes with sharing one’s writing. Now, as a book editor, she cherishes each opportunity to help writers find their voices, as she once did for her students.
A Note from the Editor
Dear Author,
Writing a book is an extraordinary journey, and each chapter you complete is a victory in itself. It takes immense courage to see a story through to its conclusion, but I want to remind you—one chapter at a time, you’re building something truly remarkable. The blank page can be daunting, but don’t forget the thrill that comes from filling it with your words, your voice, and your unique vision.
There will be moments of doubt and times when inspiration feels distant, but always remember why you started this journey. Your love for storytelling, the joy of crafting intricate characters and complex worlds, and the passion that fuels every sentence—these are your guiding lights. Keep writing for the love of it. That love will carry you through the difficult moments and will be what makes your book something to cherish for years to come.
As someone who adores writing, I can tell you that the satisfaction you feel when you finally reach “The End” will make every roadblock worth it. But until then, enjoy the process, savor the creativity, and trust in your ability to see it through. Your journey is a testament to the power of following one’s passion, evolving with it, and helping others realize their potential along the way.
Keep going. You’re closer than you think.
Best Regards and Happy Writing!
